On broad beans, potatoes, brussel sprouts, cabbage, egg and cheese dishes, cheese sauce and cream soups, it lifts the flavour magnificently.
Delicious in milk puddings, cream, ice cream and in stewed fruit.
In baking use in fruit cakes, spice buns and biscuits.
Door Step Cake
1 c sugar 1 c water
1 c sultanas 1 Tbsp butter
2 c self-raising flour pinch salt
½ tsp Rawleigh's Mixed Spice ½ tsp Rawleigh's Cinnamon
½ tsp Rawleigh's Nutmeg ½ tsp Rawleigh's Ginger
½ tsp baking soda
Boil sugar, water, sultanas and butter together for 5 minutes. When cool (but not cold) stir in flour, salt, spices and baking soda. Bake at 180ºC for 1 hour.
